My Red Lipstick Collection

Hello all! I thought today we could have a look at my red lipstick collection, though I’ve thrown in my balms and glosses too just so they don’t feel left out! If you want to see what the collection looks like on my lips you can head over here to my YouTube channel. All prices shown below are correct as of March 2017, and most come from Boots.ie just in case you want to get your hands on some of this stuff!

This was my first ever lipstick guys! Hence it looking rather worse for wear and me never ever using it! I just cant bring myself to throw the little guy away and so here he is in my collection.

Nivea Lip Balm in Cherry (2.99)

DSC01642

This is a really nice lip balm, I think everyone likes nivea lip balms in all honesty. They’re an okay price and they keep your lips moisturised and this one gives the slightest suggestion of colour when it’s on the lips. It’s the kind of thing I go for when I want a very natural lip and this one usually lives on my desk to be used when I’m working on stuff like this!

Palmers Coca Butter in Dark Chocolate and Cherry (2.69)

DSC01640

I bought this to use at a festival last year and I’m still loving it! It’s so smooth and buttery and smells amazing. Literally like cherries and chocolate, delicious. It does have this odd tendency to build up a ring of colour around the lips if it’s applied over and over without being checked in the mirror. But so long as you keep an eye on it this lip balm is lovely, and has SPF 15, which is nice.

Bert’s Bees Lip Balm in Hibiscus (5.79)

This has been in a few of my posts, but there’s a reason. It’s because I love it. I love the soft pink-red colour it has, I love the slight flowery scent it has, I love how soft it makes my lips, I love that it’s all natural. What I don’t love is the price, who has six euro to be spending on a tube of lip balm??? Because of the price, despite it being probably my favourite lip balm of all time, once this one runs out I will not be repurchasing it.

Catrice Lip Tint in Red My Lips

DSC01624

I can’t find a price for this online so I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this may have been discontinued. I wore this for my college graduation and it reminded me why lip tints are so great. You apply them once and leave them alone, they’re classy and suitable for day wear but also are dressy enough for an important event. In my humble opinion every makeup wearing human should have at least one nice lip tint in their collection.

Diva Lip Gloss

I forgot how much I loved this lip gloss until I applied it for the video. It’s not a sticky gloss nor is it super shiny, it’s just a lovely deep red colour that has a slight sheen to it. I have no idea where this came from and cannot find it online, but it is in my collection and I do like it so here it is.

Bourjois 3D Effect Lip Gloss in Rouge Democratic (10.99)

DSC01625

This gloss is so STICKY. It’s like having glue on my lips, and while that does have a strange sort of sensory pleasure when being applied actually going about my day in this lip gloss in is impossible. I have to admit I was also shocked when I saw the price of this, I think I must have been drawn in by it’s 3D lip claims. And honestly it does look pretty awesome on my face, but I just can’t get over the stickiness.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Pencil in 024 Red Diva (5.49)

DSC01612

I love this lip liner! It’s a beautiful true red that can be worn on its own, or underneath any of the other lipsticks it’s just so functional. It also stays on for hours and is beautiful to apply. I cannot speak highly enough of this lip pencil.

MAC in Russian Red (20.00)

DSC01622

This lipstick is my “good lipstick” you know the one you keep up for parties and things? Or at least it used to be until I realised that even a twenty euro lipstick has an expiry date and why shouldn’t I wear it on a random Tuesday? I do think that MAC lipsticks are amazing lipsticks, when they’re treated right they can last for hours and go on like butter. However, if you intend to eat greasy foods or do any amount of kissing do not wear this lipstick. It not only comes right of but feathers terribly and is nearly impossible to then fix. Plus it comes off onto the thing you’re putting your lips onto, very annoying.

Ted Baker in Holly Berries Are A Metaphor Fore Christ’s Blood – Fun Fact (4.30)

DSC01619

Yeah I made this name up, apparently Ted Baker don’t name their lipsticks when they’re in sets, go figure. And not having the name of the lipstick, and the lipstick being a smaller than regular size I had to guesstimate the price too. The set I got was twenty-six euro, and it contained six lipsticks, therefore each lipstick in the set was worth around 4.30. That math applies to “Zoella in Summer” too. Anyway I love this lipstick, it’s easy to apply, long wearing, you can pretty much eat with it on and be able to save it. It’s just a great, high quality wintery red lipstick.

Ted Baker in Zoella in Summer (4.30)

DSC01614

The praise for Ted Baker continues over here, same beautiful texture, easy to apply and easy to wear. The main reason I love this lipstick is the colour. I mostly go for dark reds, wintery and diva-esque if you believe the names. This is a total break from that with it’s orangey tones and general summery vibe. I haven’t worn it too much yet but come summer I daresay you won’t see me out of it.

Soap And Glory in Man Trap (12.50)

DSC01613

If you’ve been around here a while you’ll know I love soap and glory. And this lipstick is one I just love from them. It’s what I like to call a subtle red, it’s easier to wear on an everyday basis if you’re not used to red lipsticks than say the MAC situation above. But it’s not as subtle as to be mistaken for a tinted lip balm, you’re definitely wearing lipstick. It’s a great starter lipstick and it lasts all day long. S&G lipsticks are good lipsticks.

And that’s my collection! Have you used any of these lipsticks? Are there any lipsticks I’m missing out on that I really need to add to my collection? Let me know below!

Until Next Time,
Emily Jayne xo
